How did I learned how to animate 2D/3D

Posted by 8feet - July 23rd, 2022

Question by someone...

How did you get started with the Blender tools?

Did a YouTube video or online course help you learn?

---------------------

Answer...

I don't really know how to explain my process...

But it started with getting really angry at someone for calling me a talentless reaction youtube channel.

Thankfully, I don't know the concept of "Venting" and instead used all that F-U-Energy into proving them wrong by learning how to animate in SFM.

Eventually, the person became meaningless to me. I don't even remember their name. And since then did SFM animations for a good chunk of years.

Then at some point I wanted to jump into Blender cause I wanted to modify the body model of Shantae into a femboy body.

That's my first introduction to Blender.

After another year I wanted to see if I can make my own model.

I did to some degree made my own model... But it was left incomplete cause the process is really tedious.

Another year passed, Blender on and off....

I learned how to draw for the first time using Vectors. Then I did a simple animation in Photoshop with Infographics Snuff Girls.

After doing 2D animations... I then wanted to see if I can do Blender based animations.

I was feeling pissed that day and I wanted to use my F-U-Energy in learning Blender.

So as I collected the right tools and models. I began to blindly animate...

One advantage of having all the previous experiences gave me the ability to know...

--> WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK <--

So in summary... I didn't learn how to use Blender using a full course or watching a single full-long Youtube video.

I learned how to use blender(and still in the process of learning) by Googling the right questions.

- Pulling up under 4-mins Youtube videos and playin them in 2x speed

- Hopping into Reddit and Quora QnAs

- Going into obscure websites with fishy pop-up ads (but I've already setup proper software and setting to protect from viruses)

- And just asking myself out load questions to help me figure out what kind of question to ask in the internet.

All of this to help me transition all the knowledge I've accumulated over years into learning Blender.

---------------

Long story short... I was so angry I learned how to do 3D animations
